The Chao Phraya river is the main river in Thailand and the great deal of traffic along the river gives rise to the nickname of Bangkok as the “Venice of the East”. This photo was taken at dawn as we walked back to the hotel.

One of the main academic reasons for these global trips is to learn how culture impacts business practices. Harry is a tailor we have been patronizing for years, but he is also a immigrant to Thailand and successful multi-businessman, owning and operating several businesses in his 30+ years in Thailand. A number of our scheduled visits canceled this year because of the Covid-19 virus, so we called on Harry to share some of his experience and he graciously agreed.
As long as we were right there, several of the group decided to get a suit. This is Harry’s brother Bobby doing the measuring.

Queen of Curry! Queen of Curry is an award winning Thai restaurant just a 5 minute walk from our hotel and my favorite restaurant in Bangkok. Our group takes up most of the interior. The owner and staff are so friendly and the food is terrific.
That’s it for now! We have two business visits tomorrow. Check back and see what we learned.
